Processing Skills

Working Memory and Predicting

Watch this video regarding "Working Memory" and consider:
  • What you've learned about the process involved in interpreting; why is it important to improve your working memory?
  • What skills have you learned that will help improve your working memory?
  • How have your fear/ego as a Coda impacted your learning so far and how can you overcome that impact?
  • Upload your response in GoReact in spoken English:
    • Plan and rehearse your final response before recording.
    • Your response should be well thought out and incorporate information about the efforts required for interpreting, and should be no less than 3 and no more than 5 minutes in length.

Predicting Assignment: Triathlon
  • Practice the 7 prediction strategies for the topic "Triathlon"
  • Watch the Triathlon video
  • Record a response to your prediction analysis in GoReact. Record your responses in ASL
    • 1) How accurate was your prediction?
    • 2) Did you guess the intent of the topic?
    • 3) Were you expecting something different? If so, what?
    • 4) Did you learn new vocabulary? If so, what did you learn?
    • 5) Did the information shared fit with what you already knew about the topic?
