Activities/Assignments: Complete a first attempt at interpreting for two videos in GoReact.
- Recording Instructions for ENG to ASL interpretation (of Gardening):
- After reviewing your predictions, visualization map, and message analysis, record your ASL interpretation of this English stimulus video.
- In this activity you will practice consecutive interpreting, there are pauses built into the video to allow you to listen to each segment before you begin interpreting.
- After you've completed your interpretation, review your work: type your comments in GoReact
- Is your ASL clear and understandable?
- Are there signs or concepts you were unsure of or did not know?
- Did you capture the "over message" by including the main points and supporting details?
- Does your interpretation convey the same affect as the speaker?
- Recording instructions for ASL to ENG interpretation (of Triathlon):
- This activity is your first attempt in interpreting from ASL to ENG. You may pause the stimulus video throughout the process in order to watch for and create complete thoughts prior to rendering and delivering your interpretation into spoken English.
- Remember to consider all points of discourse discussed so far from weeks 1 through 6 in order to create an equivalent message in the target language (English).
- Remember, this is your first attempt at interpreting from ASL to ENG - allow yourself to post your first or second recording and resist the urge to re-record more than once.
- After you've completed your interpretation, review your work: type your comments in GoReact.
